YouTube adds Amazon affiliate links
YouTube is going all in on social commerce, and its latest move is a big one.
Eligible creators in the US can now tag Amazon products directly in videos, Shorts and live streams. Viewers can find and buy those products on Amazon without leaving the video behind. YouTube has also been expanding its own shopping product tags across the platform.
It isn’t just for brand channels either. Affiliates can use it too, so influencers reviewing your products could add shop links to their videos. Honestly, we’re surprised it’s taken this long.
If you use YouTube for affiliate or influencer marketing, keep an eye on this. The Amazon tie-in could be very powerful for plenty of brands. It’s US-only for now, and we’re hoping it reaches the UK soon.
