Meta launches paid AI subscriptions: are they worth it?
Meta has added two more subscriptions to its already crowded line-up: Meta AI Premium and Meta AI Core.
Both give you more capacity to use Meta AI for things like generating images and video, with more access the more you pay. Each package also includes Facebook Plus, Instagram Plus and WhatsApp Plus. Those are the subscriptions that give you the blue tick, better account support (including access to a chatbot or a person at Meta) and extras such as links on Reels.
If you already pay for one of the Plus subscriptions and use Meta AI regularly, it’s worth comparing what you’d get.
For us, it’s not especially relevant. We don’t use Meta AI at all, and stick with third-party tools like Canva and Claude. To be transparent, we do pay for Instagram Plus on the Avocado Social account, for the blue tick and the higher tier of support. We often use that support to raise client issues with Meta. We wouldn’t call the support brilliant, but it does get us further than we’d get without it.
